ISB vs IIM's

There is a big debate going on about which MBA institutes are better the IIM's or ISB in the yahoo groups
http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/isb-pgp
I have deliberately not taken part in the debate. It is not because I did not have any thing to offer but it is the whole concept of ISB that I am thoroughly convinced about that I just don’t want to compare it to any other institute.
The more I think about ISB the more I marvel at the thought process of the founders. There may be some benefits they would have thought about and some others they wouldn't have at the time of inception. Here I will be talking about a few of those.

Diversity in student pool - For being successful in business you have to learn to manage and work with people with different degrees of knowledge, attitude and skills.
One year course and accelerated learning - Life and business is changing fast and you have to learn to keep pace with it.
Long hours, constant time constraint and stress (as evident form student blogs) - There is only so much a person can do in life, it teaches you to prioritize and manage your time for things you love to do, and things you don't. While learning to manage stress is a part and parcel of today's corporate life. Whatever you do, should be done effectively.
International outlook and facilities- "World as a global village" a concept whose time has come, what better way to get prepared?
Infrastructure and facilities incomparable to any other in India- Business leaders have to learn to get used to such environments. This is required for Indians as many of us have come up from small towns and limited resources and our exposure to such a lifestyle is still limited.( not talking abt myself though)
High fees- if you feel committed to a task, you should be ready to take a call on the stakes involved. Pay top dollar and expect the best.
Leadership development programs- Leaders are born! no doubt about it. But you can always learn leadership skills.

All in all, tangible and intangible results will be that there will be immense amount of learning in a very very short time frame. Really looking forward to ISB now. I expect one year of blood and tears, but know and expect it to transform my boundaries of thought and action.
